Sunworthy was originally the wall covering division of Borden, which was facing closure until a team was brought in to reorganize and rebrand the disparate factories. This team successfully created and packaged the Sunworthy brand, transforming it into the largest and most profitable wall-covering brand globally, which ultimately sold for $1 billion. The brand utilized a comprehensive, striated sales approach, targeting professional designers, paint and decorating stores, hardware stores, and major retailers like Home Depot. This successful rebranding effort included correcting industry mistakes, implementing powerful retail programs, designing innovative displays, establishing a 24/7 Installation-Hotline, and executing an award-winning ad and public relations campaign that led to the company being prominently featured in decorating magazines for months.

Sunworthy Wall Coverings are primarily aimed at the do-it-yourself (DIY) market, featuring products like pre-pasted wallpaper, strippable papers, and re-positionable borders for easy application and removal. The products boast practical features, including prepasting which requires no additional adhesives, and scrubbable vinyl construction, making them durable and easy to clean with a damp cloth. Available in a variety of colors, patterns (such as floral and stripes), and styles (including vintage/retro and modern), the wall coverings are suitable for various rooms, with a particular emphasis on kitchen, bath, and laundry applications.
