Ranger Power Show Me State Solar Project
Description and services
Show Me State Solar, LLC is a proposed 250-megawatt utility-scale solar facility planned for Callaway County, Missouri, located near Kingdom City. This project, which is being led by Ranger Power, represents an investment of more than $300 million and aims to contribute 250MW of renewable, emissions-free energy to the region’s power grid. This output is estimated to be enough electricity to power 42,599 Missouri households, contributing to America’s overall energy independence.
The project is designed to provide significant economic and environmental benefits to Callaway County. Economically, it will create hundreds of jobs during construction and several permanent jobs once operational, while also providing substantial new funding streams to local taxing districts to help finance public education, infrastructure, and essential county services. It offers a long-term, stable source of predictable income for local landowners and supports farmland preservation by using permanent groundcover to improve soil and groundwater quality, with the land being easily restored for traditional farming after the project’s lifespan. Environmentally, extensive studies show no significant impact on wildlife or the local environment, and the facility’s low-impact design ensures it produces no significant emissions or harmful byproducts.
