NY Solar Inc
Description and services
New York State’s Solar Program, known as NY-Sun, is a comprehensive initiative designed to expand solar energy access for homes, businesses, and communities across the state. It operates by providing upfront incentives, coordinating with a network of qualified installers, and educating consumers on various financing options, including state and federal tax credits and low-interest loans. This blend of support is driving New York State’s transition to clean energy, supporting the Climate Act’s goals, and contributing to economic growth, which has already led to achieving the state’s six gigawatt distributed solar installation goal and setting a new target of ten gigawatts by 2030.
NY-Sun facilitates solar adoption through distinct resources tailored to specific needs, covering both on-site solar installations and community solar projects, which allow customers to tap into solar power without installing panels. For individuals and businesses, the program helps locate and vet approved contractors and provides guidance on paying for solar through a variety of financial mechanisms. Additionally, it offers dedicated resources for communities to explore, site, and promote solar development, and for contractors to access necessary dashboards, incentives, and guidance to become participating installers within the program’s framework.
