Brooklyn Solar Canopy Co. (BSCC) is an American company founded in Brooklyn, NY, in 2015, resulting from a collaboration between Brooklyn SolarWorks and Situ Studio. With over eight years in the solar industry, BSCC specializes in the design and fabrication of built-to-order solar canopies, primarily using recycled aluminum. The initial concept aimed to solve space constraints and code barriers on crowded urban rooftops, particularly in New York City, but the business has since delivered over 700 canopies for diverse applications across the United States, including decks, parking areas, and amenity spaces. The company’s mission centers on solar deployment in any and all areas by offering productized solar racking solutions.

BSCC offers a range of durable, functional, and aesthetic solar mounting structures, including the original award-winning A-Frame for urban rooftops, the customizable Post-Truss for commercial and residential use, the Cantilever design for commercial parking lots, and a Wood-Post option for residential aesthetics. The canopies are constructed from robust, lightweight 6000 series aluminum alloy, extruded and fabricated locally in the US, and are engineered to be panel agnostic, supporting any brand or model of solar panels. These structures are built to withstand environmental conditions, including high snow loads (up to 100psf) and high wind speeds (up to 200mph). BSCC is solely an equipment provider and does not include solar modules or inverters, instead coordinating with the solar installation company chosen by the customer.
